Lack of funds for councils is leading to the closure of children centres

New figures show that three quarters of local authorities have been forced to overspend their children’s social care budgets by over half a million pounds. The Local Government Association says the councils have reached breaking point, with lack of funding leading to the closure of hundreds of children’s and youth centres in the past 5 years.
