News Correspondent

England has “probably reached the limits” of reopening society, its chief medical officer has warned, as evidence of rising cases of coronavirus led the Prime Minister to postpone lifting any more lockdown restrictions.

Boris Johnson warned that with figures increasing, people could not afford to be complacent.

The number of UK deaths rose by 120 in the last 24 hours to a total of 46,119 while there were a further 880 confirmed coronavirus cases.
