Johnson pledges all electricity will be from renewables by 2035

Boris Johnson has pledged to make the UK’s energy production completely green by 2035, as part of the effort to reach net zero carbon emissions.

It’s an ambitious climate goal and one that ministers claim could even protect consumers against the kind of soaring gas prices we’re seeing at the moment.

But there are other immediate problems on the government’s agenda.
