Jeremy Hunt promises to recruit thousands of mental health workers

The Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has announced plans to recruit thousands more mental health workers, in the hope of having enough staff to treat a million more patients by 2020.

Critics have questioned how it will be funded and point out that thousands of posts are still unfilled.

This programme has learned of a 14-year-old who spent 10 days on an adult intensive care psychiatric ward because there were no beds available for adolescents anywhere in England.
