Israel Gaza war protests sweep US campuses

Washington Correspondent

The impact of events on the Middle East is being felt on university campuses across the world.

Benjamin Netanyahu said scenes on US campuses were reminiscent of Germany in the 1930s. From the elite Ivy League to polytechnics in California, students enraged by the Israel Gaza war have set up protest encampments, blocked lectures and in some cases clashed with police.

Some colleges have been forced to move lectures online, including Columbia, where the university’s president is facing calls from across the political spectrum for her resignation.
