Inflation hits 10-year high as fuel prices soar

Public health may be preoccupying ministers, but concerns about the country’s economic wellbeing aren’t far behind.

Inflation last month was the highest in a decade at 5.1%.

The much worse than expected figure was down to soaring fuel prices and the impact of disruption to supply chains.

We have been to Coventry to find out how rising prices and the squeeze on incomes is going down with shoppers, restaurateurs and retailers.
