Hundreds of Britons stranded in Peru, country to completely close borders

The Foreign Office says it’s “working furiously” to arrange flights.

Now more than 500 travellers from Britain and Ireland are still stranded in Peru – which says it will completely close its borders and shut down all airports by the end of tonight.

The country’s defence minister said this would be the last day foreigners would be able to leave the country, while the Foreign Office here says it’s “working furiously” to arrange flights.
