Home Secretary cuts short family holiday to deal with Channel migrant crossings

The Immigration minister Caroline Nokes has defended the way the Government is handling the rising number of migrants trying to cross the Channel – saying the Home Secretary was cutting short his family holiday to deal with it. Speaking on a visit to Dover – Ms Nokes said the UK wanted to work closely with France with joint intelligence and policing – and stop people leaving French shores in the first place.
