Back now to our top story on the data scandal. The data harvesting began after Cambridge University Professor Alexsandr Kogan developed an app to conduct personality tests of Facebook users.

Guardian columnist Poppy Noor was a psychology student at the university in 2011. She worked on developing a personality test that Mr Kogan then reproduced, before passing the data to scandal-hit political strategists Cambridge Analytica.
