Government won’t be able to provide free childcare ‘on the cheap’, says nurseries lobby group

The Chancellor also promised to make good on an announcement from last year’s budget: more free early years childcare.

Working parents of two-year-olds will be able to claim 15 hours a week from next month.  But was the extra £500 million to help providers with staffing costs enough to enable nurseries, childminders and day care centres cope with demand?
