Government publishes draft bill to outlaw so-called conversion therapy

Anyone trying to forcibly change someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity using so-called ‘conversion therapy’ could face up to five years in jail.

A draft bill to outlaw abusive practices has been published for the first time, eight years after it was first promised.
