German elections: Generational divide could decide result

Oktoberfest has been downsized thanks to Covid, but German politics has gone into full and final gear before Sunday’s election.

Thirty percent of the electorate are still undecided and in recent days the polls have tightened.

The slim favourite is still Olaf Scholz from the Social Democrats.

We caught up with him in Bonn before coming here.

While Angela Merkel has appeared on stage in Munich for the final election rally to give the successor chosen by her party one last necessary push.
