Forty-thousand police officers deployed across France to prevent third night of violence

Reporter

Forty-thousand police officers are being deployed across France to try to prevent a third night of rioting.

The violent protests have been sparked by the killing of a 17-year-old by police in the Parisian suburb of Nanterre.

The officer who shot him has been detained for “voluntary homicide.”

Police have already used teargas at a march in honour of the teenager this afternoon.
