Former IPCC commissioner says ‘racism’ fuelled criminal investigation against her by Met Police

Channel 4 News can reveal that the Metropolitan Police spent over one million pounds pursuing a criminal investigation against Jennifer Izekor, the former commissioner of the police watchdog, then called the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

In her first television interview, Ms Izekor, who was cleared of all charges, says that the investigation was a monumental waste of taxpayers money and was fuelled by racism on the Met’s part.

This programme has obtained previously undisclosed evidence, including a document showing that a white police officer accused her – a Black woman – of racism.
