Taking place in a small village near to Milan, it’s more of a festival than a traditional political conference, allowing the party’s leader and Italy’s joint deputy prime minister, Matteo Salvini to get among his supporters. Paraic O’Brien gained unique access to the man billed as the country’s most powerful politician to find out what makes him and his party tick.
