EU border war: Police fire water cannons at desperate migrants

Polish riot police have fired water cannons and tear gas at people trying to break through into EU territory, after dozens of people were seen throwing rocks and rushing at a fence near the Kuznica border crossing.

Poland’s Defence Ministry said it had “repelled an attack”, a day after the EU agreed to impose more sanctions on the Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko, who’s accused of deliberately stoking the migrant crisis.
