Next Tuesday’s poll is the first chance Americans have had to deliver a verdict on President Trump through the ballot box. With turnout high in states including Texas and Georgia, where early voting’s already under way, Democrat hopes are up.
But Mr Trump is trying to galvanise his base with promises to ban birthright citizenship and send troops to the southern border to meet the thousands of migrants hoping to enter the country.
Last night we reported from Mexico on some of those making that trip. Now the President will hammer home his stance on immigration in a blitz of rallies across the US.
