China condemned after passing law to curtail Hong Kong protests

China has passed a law aimed at preventing a repeat of last year’s pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong.

There has been strong international condemnation of the hastily-passed legal crackdown, which is already leading to anti-Beijing groups disbanding.
