Gaza: charities pause aid after airstrike kills aid workers

Foreign Affairs Correspondent

The bodies of the six foreign aid workers killed by an Israeli air strike on their convoy have been taken out of Gaza and are on their way home. Their Palestinian colleague has already been laid to rest.

They leave behind a population even closer to starvation – with many aid operations suspended.

The attack ramps up the international pressure on Israel – which is under fire for its lack of concern for civilian lives – while at home, war cabinet minister Benny Gantz has called for elections in September.

And a warning, this report contains distressing images.
