Chancellor Rishi Sunak promises more support as lockdown eases

In matters on the economy, the chancellor today hinted emergency support such as the furlough scheme may be extended beyond the end of April.

Speaking in advance of his speech on Wednesday, he said he wanted to be honest with people about the shock caused to the economy by the pandemic.
