Calls for more support for young people estranged from their families

More than 150,000 young people in the UK are currently estranged from their parents, according to new research.

According to the children’s charity Buttle UK, they’re left with little or no support from parents or carers.

Already overstretched services are being put under even more strain by a backlog of cases since the pandemic, meaning young people are finding it even harder to get the help they need.
