Bombs and drone attacks around Sudanese capital as battles intensify

Intense battles have been raging around the Sudanese capital Khartoum between government troops and the paramilitary Rapid support forces – including bomb and drone strikes which have forced even more residents to flee their homes.

Thousands of Sudanese have been killed since the fighting first broke out in April – while instability has spread throughout the Sahel region – most recently Niger which has just been suspended by the African Union following last month’s coup.
