Birmingham pub bombings inquest jury sworn in

Foreign Affairs Correspondent

Nearly half a century has passed since the night when explosions ripped through two pubs in Birmingham.

The IRA bombs, planted in the Mulberry Bush and Tavern in the Town, killed 21 people and injured 182.

This morning, a jury of six men and five women sat down to begin hearing inquests for those who died.

It follows a long legal fight by the families of the victims.
