Biden clarifies Ukraine ‘minor incursion’ comment, after criticism from Ukrainian president

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has been in talks with European diplomats in Berlin to try to present a firm and united front against Russia’s threat to invade Ukraine.

Last night at a stumbling press conference, President Biden suggested that a “minor incursion” by Russia would not result in major retaliation.

White House aides immediately went into damage limitation mode and today Mr Blinken stressed that the US would take strong and immediate action if President Putin went ahead with military action.
