Archie Battersbee: parents lose Supreme Court appeal against switching off life support

The parents of 12-year-old Archie Battersbee have lost a bid to appeal to the Supreme Court against switching off his life support.

The hospital treating Archie – who has been in a coma since April – says he is brain-stem dead, and the high court had agreed keeping him alive was no longer in his best interests.

The family strongly disagrees.
