When can I apply for tickets?

You can apply for tickets to the London 2012 Paralympic Games between 9am on Friday 9 September 2011 and 6pm on Monday 26 September 2011. The event schedule has already been released, although it is subject to change.

How do I apply for tickets?

Before you can apply for tickets you have to register your interest at the official London 2012 website.

Information on how to apply can be found here.

Is it first come, first served?

As with Olympic ticket sales, there is no advantage to submitting your application on the first day or the last day.

For sessions where demand for tickets exceeds supply, an automated and random selection process will be used. Organisers say this will ensure the fairest possible allocation of tickets. The aim of the ballot is to maximise the number of different applicants who are allocated tickets to the Paralympic Games.

How much are tickets?

Full price tickets start at £10. Special prices are available in all sessions (except the opening and closing ceremonies) for young people aged 16 and under on 29 August 2012 and seniors aged 60 and over at 29 August 2012.

Paralympic Games tickets for young people and seniors will cost £5. Special prices are available for wheelchair users in all sport sessions. You must apply for at least one full-price or senior ticket when applying for special price tickets for young people.

Paralympic opening and closing ceremony tickets start at £20.12, with the top-end price at £500 for the opening ceremony and 75 per cent of tickets costing £20 or under. There will also be day passes, acting like “a taster menu”, to see a range of different sports in the Olympic Park or at the ExCeL in a single day.

When does the money come out of my account?

If your application is successful, the money will be taken from your account by 31 October 2011 so you must have funds to cover the maximum cost of your application.

You will receive final notification by 18 November 2011.

Only Visa (debit, credit, and pre-paid) can be used to purchase tickets. Visa cards must not expire before 31 October 2011.

Will there be more opportunities to buy tickets?

Further tickets will go on sale online and by phone on a first come, first served basis, (using Visa only) from winter 2011. Not all sessions and price categories will be available during future sales phases.
