Where art and the selfie collide: Darlene and Me

Born in Norway in 1976, Anja studied at the London College of Printing and Parsons School of Design in New York. Her highly stylised images possess a freakish quality to them and often display contrasting emotions such as tragedy and humour.

Niemi’s photos carry a loose narrative that leave room for subjective interpretation on the complex relationships we have with ourselves. She works hard at being photographer, model, stylist and post-production editor all in one.

Anja Niemi’s latest project “Darlene and Me” is on exhibition at The Little Black Gallery in Fulham, London until the 10 March 2015.
