Exclusive: life inside Gaza City

By Channel 4 News

Updated on 17 January 2009

Israel banned foreign journalists from Gaza but Inigo Gilmore got in to report from Khan Younis on life under Israeli bombardment.

Channel 4 News managed to get into Gaza City through the Rafah crossing on the border with Egypt.

Inigo Gilmore reached Gaza's second largest city, Khan Younis in the south, but could go no further because the Israeli army had split the Gaza Strip by taking control of the town of Netzarim, effectively separating Gaza City from the south.

His report contains distressing scenes.
