How bad can it get for Gordon Brown?

With the MPs’ expenses scandal hitting Labour hardest, the party faces a drubbing in Thursday’s local and Euro elections. But the Tories may also be suffering a backlash.
A new poll out today shows that other parties, including the Greens and UKIP, are gaining ground at the expense of the main parties.
Labour could lose control of its four remaining county councils Lancashire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
For the first time since 1977, when Jim Callaghan was prime minister, the party could be left without a single county council.
