Coup to oust Brown gathers pace

The Prime Minister Gordon Brown is facing a concerted effort to force him from office as Labour MPs circulate a letter asking him to resign.
Details of an attempted coup are emerging after the resignation of Communites Secretary Hazel Blears yesterday.
The organisers are claiming as many as 80 MPs are ready to sign their letter.
But the prime minister's Cabinet allies are appealing for calm and unity,
