'CSI house' boost for students
Updated on 10 February 2009
Forensic science students are learning their trade in a purpose-built "CSI house" where they explore rooms full of bloodstains, fingerprints and other clues.
Six rooms at the 19th century Upper Lodge at the University of the West of England (UWE) have been adapted to stage a variety of "simulated crime scenes", to give budding pathologists hands-on training.
The university has worked closely with police to set up the facility, which mimics the modus operandi of criminals in scenarios like murder, child abduction and cannabis farming.
