Moves to make MMR compulsory

Health authorities in London and Wales are looking into forcing parents to get their pre-school children inoculated with the controversial measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) jab.

Should vaccinations for pre-school children be made compulsory?

The Welsh executive is considering it, and London health authorities want the option looked at too. Both areas have suffered measles outbreaks as a result of low takeup of the MMR.

And now the former head of the British Medical Association has joined the debate.
