Spymaster comes in from the cold

New MI5 chief Jonathan Evans gives an upbeat message about the terrorist threat.
Evans invited journalists into the heart of the secret service establishment, even issuing an official photograph to run alongside his press briefing.
He insisted extremists had been "forced to keep their heads down".
But he also warned that al-Qaida was still determined to carry out attacks in Britain, and he predicted that the global economic turmoil could bring potential new dangers.
