Watch the trailer for the Film4 and Film London backed short film NAPTHA, which has been selected to screen at the Cannes Film Festival on May 16th, in the festival’s Critics Week section.
Faraz’s quiet life working at an isolated petrol station is turned upside down when his ageing father, Malik, begins to speak in a long-forgotten language and insists on returning back home.
Described by the Cannes selectors as a “Spielberg-esque sci-fi film on immigration and heritage”, NAPTHA is the second short film selected to screen at the prestigious film festival by upcoming British writer/director Moin Hussain, whose debut feature is currently in development with Film4.
Film4 and Film London present a Foreign Material production in association with Conspire Pictures.
Starring Divian Ladwa and Ernest Ignatius, produced by Ali Mansuri and Tom Kimberley, written and directed by Moin Hussain.
