Chloe Burrows - Recruit Number 12

Category: Press Pack Article

Chloe Burrows is best known for her appearance on Love Island Series 7 in 2021, where she finished in second-place. Since then, Chloe has carved out her place as a successful influencer, podcast host, and rising television personality – with over 4 million followers across platforms and a growing audience across YouTube and Spotify.

Before her TV breakthrough, Chloe worked as a financial services marketing executive – a far cry from the glossy public persona many now associate with her. Despite her confident appearance, Chloe has often had to defend herself from harsh public judgment, having faced extreme trolling – including death threats – during her time on Love Island.

Chloe’s story is also one of resilience. Following her rise to fame, she was diagnosed with ADHD, a turning point that helped her better understand both past struggles and her powerful, fast-paced mind. In 2023, she experienced a deeply personal loss when her best friend died by suicide – an event that coincided with her filming on Celebs Go Dating. Chloe has since opened up about the emotional toll it took on her, acknowledging that it led to some challenging moments - many of which were captured on camera.

Chloe considers herself to be an athlete, having played football competitively from 8 to 16. While life in the limelight may have pulled her in different directions, her competitive streak and drive remain stronger than ever. “People have put me in a box,” she says, “but I’m ready to break out of it.”

Now on a mission to show there’s more to her than meets the eye, Chloe is stepping outside her comfort zone – ready to prove that behind the bubbly exterior is a woman with heart, strength, and depth.

Why did you want to take on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins?

I am one of the super fans of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. I have watched it my whole life. I absolutely love it. Me and my dad used to watch it when I was younger. And normally I'm into physical challenges, so I just wanted to really give it a go. But it was mainly because I'm such a fan of the show that made me want to experience it.

What did you hope to get out of the experience?

I just wanted to test myself. I've always loved competitive things like sports. I consider myself, normally, quite a mentally strong person, so I actually just wanted to see how far I could go. I honestly just wanted to test myself. I feel like when you go on Love Island, people kind of put you in a little box. So I wanted to kind of prove to everyone that I can do it and say, “Look at Georgia Harrison. I can do the same thing!”

Did you do any preparation for it?

I actually had no time to really prep for it because of prior commitments. I was on a brand trip for eight days in Ibiza, and then I landed and I was filming another show and from there, I went to Wales for Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. So I hadn't been home in weeks. I hadn't slept properly in weeks. I hadn't been to the gym. Like, girl was not ready!

Who would you say you bonded with the most out of the other recruits?

Without a doubt, Tasha, we're such close friends now. I feel like because we both came from Love Island, obviously there was that connection, but she is just an actual gem. I love that girl so much. I'm so glad we met on that show. She really is a girl’s girl. I feel like we were both just going through it together. If we were in the cars on the way to somewhere, we both would just be sat there looking at each other saying, ‘what are we doing?'

Did you learn anything from the DS?

I'd love to say yes but honestly I was so focused on wanting my own bed that I wasn't prepared to learn! I just wanted my own bed so badly, it was just hell on Earth!

What was more challenging - the physical or mental side of the show?

It was the mental. Well, it was a bit of both, to be honest. Obviously I wasn't in great nick going in. In hindsight, I really should have taken a month to actually get myself ready, like mentally and physically. I was already tired and then it was just exhausting and I hadn't been home in weeks so I just had a moment where I was thinking, ‘why am I actually doing this when I could be at home?’

How would you sum up your SAS experience?

It lived up to my expectations, but in my wildest dreams, it was much more intense, much more straining. It was so much more intense than I thought it could be. But because of all the stuff you don't see on camera, if that makes sense. I would actually love the opportunity to give it another go. I know Pete Wicks has given it another shot. If I did I would say to my management I need a month off and I'm going to train, get SAS ready beforehand!

Stream or watch live on Channel 4: Sundays and Mondays at 9pm, from 3 August.
