The Big Breakfast - Interview with Harriet Rose

Category: Interview, Press Pack Article

How are you feeling about joining The Big Breakfast?
I couldn’t be more excited to be joining The Big Breakfast team I used to watch the original when I was younger and to be part of this new series is a dream come true. Melvin is one of my favourite people in the world and the whole team are so talented it’s an honour to be a part of the family.

What’s your role on the show?
So, I’ll be out and about around the UK with Melvin taking on various challenges and trying to win every single one. I’m actually extremely competitive. I always try to hide it, but I feel like it’s gonna come out in full force for this.

You’ll be teaming up with Melvin Odoom – have you worked together before?
We have and honestly, he’s one of my favourite people to work with in the world. He’s so kind caring and also extremely talented and most importantly SO FUN. I love him to bits and can’t wait to spend my Saturdays with him.

Have your Kiss Breakfast co-hosts Jordan and Perri offered you any advice?
They haven’t as of yet, but those two are so supportive even if I did an awful job they’d be cheerleading for me. They’ve had my back from day one and I adore them.

You’re going to be out and about on location for the show - which part of the country do you think will have the most energetic members of the public?
Well I’m from the Midlands - my family are Brummies - so I feel like they would be fantastic, because we love to get stuck in.

What’s the weirdest thing that has happened while you’ve been live on air or in front of an audience?
I fell of my chair live on Kiss after accidentally saying “It’s a great day to be gay” rather than “today”, that was very enjoyable. I also once fell off the back of the stage while hosting the Gay Times Honours which was a real moment for memory books.

Are you a morning person? How do you like to start your day?
To be honest, my sleep schedule is so bonkers that I’m an any time of the day person. As long as I’m not hungry, I’m happy!
