999: What's Your Emergency? (S7 Ep 1) Clips

Category: News Release

999 WHAT'S YOUR EMERGENCY? returns, investigating some of the 150 million accidents that occur in the UK, at home, at play and on our roads every year.

As over 40% of these occur in our homes, this is statistically the most dangerous place to be. As more and more of us are attracted to popular sports, A&E departments have seen a 14% rise in sports injuries. On average Britons will be involved in two road traffic collisions in their lifetime, making roads still the place where you are most likely to die in an accident.

In the clips above:

An ambulance crew is despatched to a rural area where a man has chopped through his foot with an axe while cutting firewood.

All three emergency services are involved in a dramatic recovery operation at a major traffic incident. A woman has to be cut out of her car and faces life-changing multiple injuries.

Another crew responds to a Saturday afternoon call-out to help the victim of an injury incurred while playing rugby.
