Gripping Norwegian drama in which a doctor searching for a cure for his wife's illness sets up an underground clinic for patients who want to avoid the legal scrutiny of a regular hospital
Aided by corrupt civil defence man Leif, physician Ravn opens an illegal clinic for off-the-grid patients deep below a disused station in Oslo to finance his research into a cure for his dying wife
Against Leif's wishes, Ravn decides to inform Vilma's colleague Unn about their secret. Trapped underground and separated from his pregnant wife Marit, injured robber Teo is driven to distraction.
Ravn and Unn treat the patients Leif provides as best they can and begin to make progress with Vilma's treatment, but Vilma's daughter Siv has started asking questions. Leif is under police scrutiny.
Leif is forced to reconsider his leadership style. Teo puts both himself and the clinic at risk by seeking out Marit. A patient gives Ravn an idea that could help Vilma, but he needs a test subject.
A patient brings a deadly virus into the clinic. Vilma becomes infected and Ravn must make the most difficult choice of his life. While Unn works hard to gain control, Leif implements his own plan.
When Vilma disappears, Ravn and Leif must find her before someone else does. While they hunt for her on the surface, police officer Per breaks into Leif's tunnels and bomb shelters below ground.
Ravn has a lot of explaining to do but nobody buys into his story. The hospital authorities propose a risky course of action. With Unn back at work and Teo in prison, Leif is left alone in the clinic.
Oslo is in crisis after several days without power and Leif secretly rejoices over his actions. An emergency generator at the hospital breaks down, leaving Ravn and Unn with only one way to proceed.
