Why do you want to take part in The Hunt: Prey vs Predator?

I really want to do this to prove to myself that I can. I've got a condition called FND [Functional Neurological Disorder], which means that I have seizures and I also get weakness in my left-hand side, so it’s a personal challenge to see whether I can still get up and run around a forest.

Tell us a bit about yourself and what you’ll bring to this game.

Forgive me, but I am a dentist by trade. But I'm not as boring as that might initially seem. I’m ex-military, I’ve got six kids and a grandson. Me and my wife run a casting agency and two private drama schools. Life's busy. I'm a normal lad from the north and I’m just up for a bit of a laugh.

What are you like when playing games with friends and family? Would you say you’re competitive?

Painfully so. There are definitely board flips every games night in our house, and if I didn't win, it's because I didn't want to win it.

How do you think you’ll fare better, as predator or prey?

I think predator, I just feel like you're a little bit more in control because you're the one doing the hunting, you're not being hunted.

Are you a team player? Do you think you’ll be good at building alliances and coming up with strategies?

Yeah, I can definitely be a good team player. I naturally gravitate towards leading a team and a good leader knows how to utilise everybody's skill within the group, not just take over.

If you were the ultimate winner, what would you spend your winnings on?

Do you know what? I don’t have a plan because money is just a visitor. It's never ours. The prize is money I've not got at the moment and it's money I might never have, so I’ve not got a plan.

Stream or watch The Hunt: Prey vs Predator on Channel 4, Sunday 22 March at 9pm.
