Why do you want to take part in The Hunt: Prey vs Predator?

I love putting myself in new environments and stepping outside my comfort zone. My whole life has been about trusting my instincts, evaluating risks and taking opportunities. Every challenge I’ve taken on has shaped who I am today, so this felt like the perfect test to see how I’d adapt in a completely different setting. I consider myself quite a capable person, so I'd like to prove to myself and other people that I am who I say I am.

Tell us a bit about yourself and what you’ll bring to this game.

I’m 28 and from South Wales. I’m a very proud Welshman and a passionate Welsh speaker. For the last seven years I’ve been promoting bilingualism, media and career opportunities in schools across Wales, so I’ve travelled all over the country meeting new people and speaking to different audiences.

Because of that, I’m used to thinking on my feet and adapting quickly to new people, situations and environments. I predominantly work as a public speaker, so reading people and understanding situations is a big part of what I do.

I’d say I’m quite a unique, cheeky yet reserved character. I enjoy the good things in life — fast cars, food and films — so being thrown into the forest with very little is definitely going to be a shock to the system. But I’m excited to see how I adapt.

What are you like when playing games with friends and family? Would you say you’re competitive?

I played a lot of rugby growing up so I can definitely compete, work under pressure and rise to the occasion. When it comes to games with friends or family, I tend to do pretty well because I like to keep my cards close to my chest and choose my moments carefully. I’m quite strategic in how I approach things. I like to read the game and read the players first before I pick my battles or decide when it’s the right moment to strike.

How do you think you’ll fare better, as predator or prey?

I think, instinctively, I have a predator mindset, but personality-wise I might lean more towards prey. My friends say I’m quite good at talking my way out of situations, so I think I could use that to my advantage. At the moment I’d probably say prey, I think I could play that role quite cleverly.

Are you a team player? Do you think you’ll be good at building alliances and coming up with strategies?

I naturally work quite independently — I’m a bit of a lone wolf — but I can get along with people easily when I need to. I’m quite analytical, so strategy will definitely be a big part of how I play the game.

So I think I’d take a step back to begin with, go under the radar and work my way up slowly. I like to work smart, not hard. Sometimes it’s better to let the bigger personalities compete with each other first before you make your move.

If you were the ultimate winner, what would you spend your winnings on?

The first thing I’d do is treat the people closest to me to a nice holiday together. Secondly, I’d probably buy myself a nice fast car, because I’m a massive petrol head. And most importantly, I’d love to finally get onto the property ladder and buy my first home. I’ve been renting for the last five years and it hasn’t really got me anywhere, so having a place I can truly call home would mean a lot — in Wales of course.
