MEET THE COUPLES

EPISODE 1: 4 JAN

Cyrell Paule (29) and Nick Jovanovic (27)

Cyrell is the only member of her tightknit family who isn’t married or attached yet and she’s feeling the pressure. Her soon to be husband, Nicholas, has had to overcome life’s biggest challenges to join the experiment as in his mid-20s, Nick was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Having conquered the life-threatening illness, Nick is now in the right frame of mind to open his heart and find love.

Jules Robinson (36) & Cameron Merchant (34)

Jules is a successful small business owner looking to find a man who wants kids as much as she does. Having ticked off so many boxes, getting married is the major void left in her life. The experts pair her with someone equally as driven and career focused in 34-year-old Cameron. A former professional cricketer, Cam’s passion for his career has cost him love in the past – this experiment is his opportunity to grab that second chance at love and dedicate the same passion and energy he has  for cricket towards a relationship. Fortunately for Jules, Cam is just as excited at the idea of starting a family as she is.

EPISODE 2: 5 JANUARY

Jessika Power (27) and Mick Gould (31)

Jessika is an executive assistant. The men who are confident enough to approach her are only after short term hook ups, but she’s desperately searching for a life partner to build a stable family of her own.  The experts match her with Mick, a 31 year old ‘tradie’ and hobby farmer, he’s a guy with a big heart who’s ready to settle down.

Melissa Lucarelli (38) and Dino Hira (34)

Melissa is a loud and vibrant talent agent from Sydney, who has been single and celibate for eight years.  The experts hope that opposites attract when they match her with Dino, a spiritual meditation teacher from Perth. But Melissa’s big day starts in chaos, as she oversleeps by two hours.

EPISODE 3: 6 JANUARY

Ning Surasiang (32) and Mark Scrivens (42)

The relationship experts have their work cut out for them with 33-year-old Townsville mum Ning. She’s a single mum who has a lot of trust issues, but the experts think 42-year-old fitness instructor Mark, is her perfect match.  This Melbourne based ex-army man is now settled in his life and ready to find love.

Heidi Latcham (38) and Mike Gunner (44)

In Byron Bay, eternal playboy Mike has come back from years of travelling and at 44 has decided if he wants a family, the time is now. And he’s a perfect match for free-spirited Heidi who after being in foster care as a teenager  is  fiercely independent, but longs for stability and to settle down.

EPISODE 5: 8 JANUARY

Lauren Huntriss (31) and Matthew Bennett (29)

Matthew is an introvert. He has never so much as brought a girl home before. His last kiss was seven years ago and he has never been in a relationship. He’s also keeping a massive secret that has undermined his confidence: Matt is still a virgin.

The experts match him with 31-year-old make-up artist, Lauren. She hasn’t had much success in her dating life as she continually chooses guys who aren’t ready to commit to a serious relationship.  She has never felt so strongly about wanting to settle down and find love. Lauren believes this experiment is her last real chance at finding love.

Elizabeth Sobinoff (27) and Sam Ball (26)

The second pairing in episode five is Sam and Elizabeth.  Sam is a 26-year-old ‘tradie’ from Sydney. Sam finds his looks work against him in the dating world because women presume he isn’t after a serious relationship. He is searching for a confident woman who is switched on and wants what he wants.

Elizabeth is super glamorous and strong-minded and like Sam, people tend to stereotype her because of the way she looks. Managing a jewellery store, Elizabeth has been let down in previous relationships by men who aren’t over their ex partners. She needs someone confident and dependable - something she hasn’t had in the past.
