Kirstie's Celebrity Craft Masters

Kirstie’s Celebrity Craft Masters

Category: News Release

A new 15-part daytime series, starting Monday 1 July at 5pm on Channel 4

Britain’s Queen of craft, Kirstie Allsopp, is back, and she’s on a mission to share her love of all things handmade with some of the country’s best loved celebrities. From reality star Mark Francis Vandelli to comedian Susan Calman, famous faces are taking on Kirstie’s challenge to learn a host of new craft skills and let their creativity run wild. They may be stars of screen, stage and sport, but will they embrace embroidery, go potty for pottery or say no way to crochet?

Our stars will often be taking on an old showbiz chum or former colleague, so we’ll get to see property experts Lucy Alexander and Martin Roberts face off against each other, ex Hollyoaks sweethearts Jeremy Edwards and Terri Dwyer go head to head and presenting pals Angellica Bell and Rav Wilding settle an old score. They’ll turn their old trash to treasure in the upcycle round and learn oodles of new skills as we tackle every craft in the book. From papercraft to pyrography, quilling to drilling and wood work to cake decorating, we’ll uncover our celebs’ hidden talents along the way.

Every day two celebrities will go head to head to win Kirstie’s craft trophy. At home, they’ll be paired with a professional crafter, who will teach them to make three items, with surprising and sometimes brilliant, sometimes disastrous results! Then they’ll travel to Kirstie’s Craft HQ, the home of all things handmade, where our expert judges, professor of design and craft Polly Macpherson and designer Piyush Suri, will be pulling no punches. Finally, our two intrepid celebrities will face off in a 30-minute timed crafting challenge, under the watchful eye of Kirstie and the judges and without their professional crafters there to guide them. Will they remember what they’ve learned so far, or will they decide to go off piste? Along the way, Kirstie will be on hand to cheer our celebs on, offer tips, and lend a hand when the chips are down.

When the dust settles on all four challenges it’s finally time to crown the crafting champion. They may be used to the glitz and glamour of the awards circuit, but the prize our celebs really want is Kirstie’s craft trophy. Who will prevail?  Every show will be jam packed with handmade goodness, celeb high jinks, Kirstie enthusiasm and tonnes of craft inspiration.
