Interview with Elizabeth Hurley - The Deceased
Category: Press Pack ArticleWhat attracted you to being a part of The Inheritance?
I really enjoyed The Traitors and loved the idea of being part of a show in which audiences were really invested. I thought Rob Rinder and I would be a good combination and I knew it would be great to shoot in such an exquisite location.
You’ve played a wide variety of characters in your career, have you ever played a dead person?
Hmmmm… I’ve died on screen quite a few times, but I don’t recall lying in a coffin before. I quite enjoyed it actually, very restful.
The series is set in an incredibly luxurious and opulent world, is it one you feel at home in?
Shooting at an exquisite country estate was a real treat. The air was so fresh it felt like we were at a health retreat. It can be easier shooting on a sound stage but I prefer real locations as it really helps with getting into character.
Can you tell us a little bit about The Deceased’s wardrobe? What do you wear in the series?
My character needed a closet full of gorgeous dresses and stylist Miranda Almond filled it with beauties from a host of fabulous designers including Jenny Packham, Safiyaa and Nadine Merabi.
The Deceased was a wine maker. Have you ever considered branching out into the world of celebrity wines like Kylie or Brad Pitt?
I can certainly see the glamour of having your own wine, and Brad Pitt’s Rosé is actually delicious, but I drink alcohol so rarely that I’d be more interested in trying to create an exceptionally fabulous alcohol free wine.
Have you ever considered being a contestant on a celebrity version of a reality show?
I have been invited on a few really good ones, but I prefer scripted work. I don’t much like being myself on camera; it feels like I’m invading my own privacy!
Have you ever inherited something dear or important to you?
I have a set of tiny porcelain coffee cups which belonged to my favourite great aunt - I think of her with every espresso.
What would you do for a share of an inheritance? How far would you go?
I want everyone I love to check out on empty, having spent every penny on enjoying themselves. I’m not desperate to inherit anything.
