The Inheritance: The Final - interview with Hafsah
Category: Press Pack ArticleCam was named the winner of Channel 4’s The Inheritance. The Yorkshire scaffolder, 28, won the vote amongst his fellow finalists to be the ultimate Prime Beneficiary, receiving a £100,000 fortune from The Deceased’s estate. Faced with the cash, Cam had the option to keep all the winnings for himself but instead, he chose to share the inheritance with Emma, Hafsah, Hannah and Jesse, gifting them £20,000 each to add to their money already banked. Marketing manager Hafsah walked away with £27,700.
Interview with Hafsah:
What were your first impressions of the house, The Executor and your fellow players?
My first impression of the house was, wow, this is stunning. I absolutely love National Trust sites, and my favourite part about them is exploring the houses. So, this was right up my street. My first impression of the players was that they were kind of hard to read. Some of them were very easy to read but some of them were slightly more ambiguous.
Who did you build a really good friendship with would you say?
Right off the bat, me and Mart connected, and I was eyeing up Tia, thinking me and this girl seemed quite aligned.
Did you have a strategy, and did you stick to it?
I didn't go in with a strategy. I feel like I'm quite quick witted, so I was just figuring it out as I went along.
How did you find the requests? No doubt you found yourself doing things you'd never dreamt of!
I went into this championing a soft girl lifestyle, but that was completely challenged. To be honest, all of the requests really showed me what I'm capable of.
Do you have a favourite request that you took part in and are there any you didn’t like so much?
I loved the wellness one when we were making skincare products. It's actually what I currently work in, so it was my area of expertise. There weren’t any requests I didn’t like. Even when I was knees deep in manure, I was kind of enjoying it.
Do you think you learnt anything about yourself in the process?
I think I realised just how resilient, strong, physically fit, smart and logical I am.
Did you think you'd come this far? And how did you feel when you found out that Cam had indeed divided the money equally?
I knew I could get to the end but obviously I'm still so happy about it. To be honest, I trusted Cam. I knew he was going to divide it equally but obviously it’s still a relief to know he 100% did that!
Do you have a standout highlight for the entire experience?
I think the standout highlight has to be the afternoon that I spent with Ferg and Tia in manure because it's just so disgusting to me and it's so far out of my comfort zone. I feel like it really shows my resilience and my mentality to just enjoy it, take each moment as it comes. Just relinquish all control and have fun.
If you could sum up the entire experience in three words, which words would you choose?
Educational, lucrative and fun.
