James has attempted to cast Ste’s children aside after his recent disagreements with Lucas but it hits a cord with James when Ste compares him to Mac, why is this?

All roads lead back to James’ troubled childhood and any connection or similarity James might display to his abusive father will rock him to his core.

Do you think he might have picked up some of his dad’s traits?

I think most people who go through trauma like that will worry that exact thing. Indeed, we’ve seen on countless occasions persisted people become the persecutor so it’s a distinct possibility.

Ste and James have had a few ups and downs in their relationship, why do you think they work?

They’ve always been drawn to each other, as enemies, friends or now as husband and husband… opposites attract after all.

What does the future hold for the couple and does James have it in him to be a good step-dad?

I’m sure he does… whether he’ll get the chance is another matter entirely…

Why should fans tune into the solidarity episode?

There’s ups and downs but ultimately the message of inclusion and togetherness is one we’ll all need a bit of in our lives right now!

What was the scenes/night shoot like to film?

I’d love to say we were very serious and professional but that would be a lie… it was a lovely, funny and generous bunch of people and we found lightness and camaraderie.

Why do you think it’s important for Hollyoaks to show the contrast of togetherness during the issue storyline covering conversion therapy?

Life isn’t always rosy - it’s incumbent on us to show the light and the shade and the conversion story is certainly that
