Former Ferrari boss joins C4 F1 team for Australian Formula 1 GP

Former Ferrari Team Principal Stefano Domenicali will join Channel 4 for its coverage of the opening Formula 1® Grand Prix of the 2019 season from Melbourne.

Stefano will be providing his expert insight alongside former F1 drivers David Coulthard and Mark Webber for Channel 4’s opening Formula 1 highlights programme this Sunday (17.3.19).

Channel 4’s Head of Sport Pete Andrews said: “Stefano’s knowledge of both Formula 1 and Ferrari is second to none and I’m sure viewers are going to really appreciate his expertise.

“The addition of Stefano to our already outstanding presentation line up is a real coup. To have someone who can provide such a unique insight into the world’s most iconic Formula 1 racing team will be fascinating and we’ll look forward to him joining us at more races during the season.”

Stefano joined Ferrari in 1995 rising to become Team Principal in 2008 until 2014. Under his leadership Ferrari won the 2008 Constructors’ Championship.

Channel 4’s coverage of the 2019 Formula 1® Championship, produced by the award winning independent production company Whisper Films and presented by Steve Jones, begins on Sunday at 2pm. Stefano joins Channel 4’s presentation team at Melbourne which also includes racing driver Billy Monger.

Channel 4 will be the only terrestrial channel where viewers can enjoy exclusive live free to air coverage of the 2019 FORMULA 1 BRITISH GRAND PRIX from Silverstone on 14 July. Channel 4 will also broadcast full live coverage of the British GP practice sessions and qualifying rounds.

And Channel 4 will be the only place where viewers can enjoy free to air tv highlights coverage of the Formula 1® season which will see three British drivers on the grid, including Lewis Hamilton who will be challenging for his sixth World Championship.
