Why did you say yes to joining the agency?

Oh, my God. I didn't just say yes. I actually asked them. I got my manager to phone up, and say, "She'd be really interested." I watched a bit of the last series, the one with Kerry and it just looked so much fun. And I thought, "Do you know what? I'm single. I've been on the dating apps." I was still on the dating apps. And I thought, "What a fun way to do it with experts helping you." And it's the best decision I ever made because I've never enjoyed a show so much. I've never laughed so much with the best people. It's quite a long schedule and also long filming days and yet I've never, ever dreaded them, because a lot of times on other shows I do. With this, I've never woken up and thought, "Oh, I'm being bothered today," or, "I don't want to do this today," or "I'm away from home," because I'm such a home body. But honestly, I've just really enjoyed it. So it was just something I thought, "That looks like really good fun, and I just have to be me on it rightly or wrongly." And yeah, like I say, the best decision I've made.

Going into this, how would you describe your romantic life?

Well, probably for the last couple of years have non-existent really. I mean, I've been out on a few dates as far as dating apps, and they've been lovely. And actually, I've stayed friends with them. That's my issue. I stay friends with everyone. I'm definitely not looking for another friend. So yeah, it's not been bad. The thing is, I'm not desperate. I'm not, "Oh, my God. I've got to meet someone." Would I like to meet someone? Absolutely. That would be lovely. But if I don't, I'm in a really self-sufficient, happy place anyway. You know? With kids and grandkids and animals everywhere. So it's not like an absolute need, but is it a want? Yeah, I guess it is. It'd be nice to have my person. Janet Street Porter just got married for the fifth time, and she's what? 78 or something. You know? That's just what I mean. It's not too late for anyone really.

Why do you think it hasn't worked for you since you’ve been single?

I don't know. If you knew the magic ingredient, then it would be instant, wouldn't it? I just think with dating and with meeting someone, it's a connection with someone that you can't explain. It might be you have your own ideas in your head of what you're looking for. I want someone dark hair, quite tall, this, that, and the other. But it can also be someone that you meet, and you just get on. And they don't actually tick any box, but there's just something there. So I don't know is the answer.

Did you give the agents a list of everything from looks to personality?

Yeah, they're saying what kind of person are you looking for? And to be honest, I just said tall with a pulse would be nice. It doesn't have to be a strong one. I'm not even worried about that at this point. It's really hard, because not only did they have to find someone, but they have to find someone who wants to be on film, and that's hard.
