After Prince Andrew’s gruelling Newsnight interview, Channel 4 is set to repeat the Dispatches that investigates the extraordinary friendship between Prince Andrew and multi-millionaire paedophile Jeffery Epstein. Dispatches features the first UK interview with Mike Fisten, one of the first investigators Virginia Roberts spoke to, Fisten played a key role in exposing Epstein’s crimes while working for an attorney representing some of the victims, he reveals details of his decade long investigation.
- Mike Fisten, private investigator, “If you were around Jeffrey you were around underage girls. He has no children. He has no nieces… It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that something was going on there.”
- Virginia Roberts testimony on rarely discussed third alleged sexual encounter with Prince Andrew “The third time I had sex with Andy was in an orgy on Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I was around 18 at the time. Epstein, Andy, approximately eight other young girls, and I had sex together. The other girls all seemed and appeared to be under the age of 18 and didn’t really speak English. Epstein laughed about the fact they couldn’t really communicate, saying that they are the “easiest” girls to get along with.
In an unprecedented Newsnight interview this Saturday, Prince Andrew defended himself against accusations that he had sex with Virginia Roberts, which he vehemently denies, or sex with any woman trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein. He added he did not regret his friendship with the convicted sex offender due to “the people that I met and the opportunities that I was given to learn either by him or because of him were actually very useful.” The Duke of York claimed that he could not have had sex with a teenage girl because he was at home after attending a children’s party at Pizza Express in Woking. Dispatches have discovered that over the course of 12 years, from 1999, Epstein and Prince Andrew would meet on at least 10 occasions, Andrew often staying with him for days, on end.
Prince Andrew’s said in his Newsnight interview that he was “not that close” with Epstein, Dispatches investigates their 12-year long friendship and Epstein’s crimes.
Dispatches attempted to contact Ghislaine Maxwell through her lawyers but did not receive a response. She previously denied any wrongdoing.
In a statement after Epstein’s death Prince Andrew said: “At no stage during the limited time I spent with him did I see, witness or suspect any behaviour of the sort that subsequently led to his arrest and conviction.”
Buckingham Palace said: “any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors is categorically untrue.” and “It is emphatically denied that the Duke of York had any form of sexual contact with Virginia Roberts. Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation.”
