17 September 2025
Channel 4 is broadcasting what’s believed to be the world’s longest uninterrupted TV display of falsehoods, distortions and inaccuracies uttered by Donald Trump on Wednesday 17th September. In altogether different fashion, the broadcaster is going one step further to raise awareness of Trump’s behaviour with special continuity announcements poking fun at his style.
Across the day, a Donald Trump impersonator will take over from the Channel 4 continuity announcers, to deliver untrue information - from misleading programme synopses to exaggerated runtimes - as a sobering reminder of what can happen when once-trusted sources of truth cannot be relied upon.
The impersonator will provide nonsense introductions that are rubbished by Channel 4’s usual continuity announcers, who respond to jibes from Trump including that “Everybody hates Raymond and everybody loves Trump” to “we’re making Channel 4 great again”.
Trump’s impersonator was voiced by Lewis MacLeod.
The continuity will run across streaming and linear on Wednesday 17th September.
Trump v The Truth will air on Channel 4 at 10pm on Wednesday 17th September.
