Now in its eighth series and set to hit its milestone 50th episode, Celebrity Gogglebox returns as a rolling cast of famous faces hit the sofa as they watch the week's big shows, sharing their sharp, insightful and funny points of view.
Some of the new famous faces joining the Gogglebox family this series include:
- TV personality Olivia Attwood and her mum Jennifer
- Harry and Matt aka Nitro and Legend from Gladiators
- Content creators, George Clark and Max Balegde
- Comedian and actor, Julian Clary and actor and television presenter, Nigel Havers
Olivia Attwood said: “Doing Celebrity Gogglebox with my mum was chaotic but in the best possible way. It’s not often that we agree on things which I think the viewers may find entertaining. My family are huge fans of the show so it’s a real honour to be a part of such an iconic British programme.”
Matt, aka Legend, said: “Everyone knows how good I am at being on TV, but turns out I’m even better at watching it. Wow. Absolutely incredible sofa performance. Anyway, I had a great time on the show and I need to say a massive thank you to Gogglebox for literally paying me to watch TV. What a time to be alive.”
Harry, aka Nitro, said: “Filming Celebrity Gogglebox was pure fun from start to finish, just a proper night in full of laughs, brilliant TV, and plenty of unexpected moments. It was a really enjoyable experience and great fun to be part of.”
George Clark said: “I loved it, mainly because it gave me a full excuse to take the mick out of Max on national TV. He reacts to everything, so you’re never bored. It’s so easy to get into as well, you just sit there, say exactly what you’re thinking, and before you know it, we’ve gone completely off track!”
Max Balegde said: “So excited to be back filming with George, especially on what is one of both our favourite TV shows! Such a privilege to be a part of the Gogglebox family with such legends and it was so much fun doing what I do best - catching up with friend over a good tv show and cup of tea."
Julian Clary said: “Doing Celebrity Gogglebox was an absolute treat, a perfectly civilised way to spend an evening. I do like to think my commentary brought a certain level of refinement to proceedings, and Nigel managed to stay awake, although there is an unsightly stain on my sofa.”
Nigel Havers said: “It’s a dream come true working with Julian on Gogglebox. I can’t think of a better way to spend an evening… (Julian wrote this)."
More new famous faces will be confirmed as the series airs.
Some of Britain’s favourite personalities are also set to return, including, Vernon Kay and Paddy McGuinness, Bez and Shaun, Roman and Martin Kemp, Ashley Banjo and Perri Kiely, Nick Grimshaw and niece Liv, the Mangans, Rylan and mum Linda, Mo Gilligan and Babatunde Aleshe, Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan, Vicky Pattison and Pete Wicks – and many more.
Celebrity Gogglebox, produced by Studio Lambert, returns to Channel 4 this Friday 5th June at 9pm.
